I love how far apart the spaces are, you can actually hear the wildlife at night instead of the other campers. The onsite boat ramp with ample parking, minutes from a really nice free gun range, and also is the start for the Palmetto Trail, very cool. All level, blacktop, back in spaces. They don't have sewer at your site so be prepared to run a caddy down to the dump station and bring bug spray and a mat to put at your front door as the grass is left rather long.

This has to be the worst campground on state or federal lands I've ever visited. I have camped 15-20 nights a year on average for the past ten years in state or federal campgrounds in 17 different states and I'm very disappointed by this one. The view and location of the tent sites is lovely. Right on the water. And although buggy and hot, those are just parts of camping, especially in the southern coastal region of the country. The real issue here is that the campsites are extremely close together with no separation. So if you like headlamps shining into your tent at night, and being able to hear your neighbor's entire conversations, this is the place for you. We were in tent site T1 which had only one abutting neighbor and they made our stay noisy and bright. Plus, the bathroom is in the center of a grassy area with no undergrowth, so the spotlight from the restrooms and every passing car shown in our tent all night. When camping with a toddler, i usually worry about him causing too much noise, but here all the lights and noise kept him up until 10 pm while he tried relentlessly to fall asleep. I would recommend this campground to rv campers only, which is what the majority of visitors seemed to be anyway.

Great landing. No fish though... better to go back the way you came.

This is our 2nd time here at Buck Hall. This is a small quiet site located on the Intracoastal Waterway 25 miles north of Charleston. The bathhouse is a little "tired" but serves its purpose. There are lots a placed to explore in the area.Beautiful sunrises over the Intracoastal.

Nice place! Sucks that you have to reserve a rv site a year out but nice quiet place on the water with boat ramp.
